Though undrafted, Conklin signed with the Edmonton Oilers in 2001 and began his NHL career there. Conklin played for several NHL teams throughout his career, including the Edmonton Oilers, Columbus Blue Jackets, Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, Detroit Red Wings, and St. Louis Blues. He was known as a reliable backup goaltender and had a knack for stepping up in critical situations. One of the highlights of Conklin's career was participating in the first three NHL Winter Classic outdoor games, earning him the nickname \"The King of the Classics.\" Despite not winning a Stanley Cup, he was part of two teams that reached the Stanley Cup Final: the Edmonton Oilers in 2006 and the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2008. Over the years, Brian’s has supplied a large number of well established NHL goaltenders such as, Felix Potvin, Trevor Kidd, Sean Burke, Garth Snow, Ed Belfour and more recent NHL goalies like Craig Anderson, Jaroslav Halak, Antti Raanta, Robin Lehner and Thatcher Demko.
