Al Montoya is a former National Hockey League goaltender. Montoya was drafted by the New York Rangers in the first round, 6th overall, of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
Montoya began his NHL career with the Rangers in the 2008-2009 season. Montoya played for several NHL teams during his career, including the Rangers, Phoenix Coyotes, Winnipeg Jets, Montreal Canadiens, Florida Panthers, and Edmonton Oilers.
Montoya had notable success as a backup goaltender and was known for his strong performances in relief roles. His career highlights include helping the Winnipeg Jets make the playoffs during the 2014-2015 season and his time with the Florida Panthers, where he provided reliable goaltending. Montoya retired from professional hockey in 2018.

started out primarily as a bicycle manufacturer in 1899. It transitioned into hockey skates after multiple competitors in the biking market forced them to shift focus and change strategy. Using scrap steel from their bicycle/automobile efforts, they were able to launch themselves into the skating world with other hockey equipment soon following.
