Michal Neuvirth is a former National Hockey League goaltender. Drafted by the Washington Capitals in the second round, 34th overall, of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Neuvirth began his NHL career with the Capitals and made a notable impact. He played for the Capitals from 2009 to 2011 before being traded to the Buffalo Sabres, where he continued to demonstrate his skills as a reliable goaltender. Later in his career, Neuvirth had stints with the Philadelphia Flyers and the New York Islanders. One of Neuvirth's career highlights came during the 2010-2011 season when he helped the Capitals reach the playoffs, and his performances were instrumental in securing victories. Known for his quick movements and strong positional play, Neuvirth was regarded as a capable goaltender, particularly in high-pressure situations. Neuvirth retired from professional hockey in 2022. His career was marked by his contributions to various teams and his solid performances as a dependable goaltender.
