Jake Oettinger is a current National Hockey League goaltender playing for the Dallas Stars. Oettinger was a standout goaltender at Boston University before being drafted in the first round, 26th overall, by the Dallas Stars in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. Oettinger made his NHL debut with the Stars during the 2020-2021 season and quickly established himself as a reliable presence in goal. Known for his calm demeanor, excellent positioning, and strong technical skills, Oettinger became the Stars starting goaltender and has never looked back. Oettinger gained widespread attention during the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs, where he delivered an exceptional performance in a first-round series against the Calgary Flames, setting a franchise record for saves in a single playoff game. Oettinger is seen as one of the NHL's top young goaltenders and a key part of the Dallas Stars future.
