Sergei Bobrovsky is a premier goaltender in the National Hockey League (NHL), currently playing for the Florida Panthers. Despite going undrafted, his standout performances in Russia caught the attention of NHL scouts, leading to his signing with the Philadelphia Flyers in 2010. Bobrovsky made his NHL debut during the 2010–11 season and quickly earned the starting role. After being traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2012, Bobrovsky emerged as one of the league’s top goaltenders, capturing the Vezina Trophy twice (2013, 2017) as the NHL’s best netminder. He played a pivotal role in the Blue Jackets’ historic 2019 playoff run, which included their first-ever series win, a stunning sweep of the Tampa Bay Lightning. In 2019, Bobrovsky signed a seven-year, $70 million contract with the Florida Panthers. Though his early seasons in Florida were marked by ups and downs, he returned to elite form during the 2022–23 season, backstopping the Panthers to the Stanley Cup Final. His exceptional performances continued through the 2024 and 2025 playoffs, where he helped Florida capture their first ever back to back Stanley Cup championships, solidifying his legacy as one of the premier goaltenders of his era.
