Andrei Trefilov is a former National Hockey League goaltender that was drafted in the 12th round in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft by the Calgary Flames. Trefilov started his NHL career with he Calgary Flames in 1993 and also played for the Chicago Blackhawks and Buffalo Sabres. A major highlight in his hockey career was when he helped Unified Team win the gold medal in the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France. Another major hockey achievement was when Trefilov played for the IHL’s Detroit Vipers and won the James Norris Memorial Trophy with Kevin Weekes for allowing the fewest goals in the IHL in 1999 and he also won the Norman Poile Trophy as the IHL’s playoff MVP in 2000 with the Chicago Wolves.
