Cam Ward is a former National Hockey League Goaltender. Drafted 25th overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Ward went on to have a lengthy 15 year career in the NHL spending majority of his time with the Hurricanes and 1 season with the Chicago Blackhawks before retiring in 2019. Ward won the Stanley Cup with the Hurricanes in 2006 and was also named the Conn Smythe Trophy winner for MVP in the playoffs. Ward became the first starting goaltender to win the Stanley Cup as a rookie since Patrick Roy did it back in 1986.
