Mike Vernon is a former National Hockey League goaltender who was drafted 56th overall in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. Vernon went on to play 19 seasons in the NHL with Calgary Flames, Detroit Red Wings, San Jose Sharks and the Florida Panthers. A goaltender with over 300 wins to his credit, Vernon won the Stanley Cup in 1989 with the Calgary Flames and again in 1997 with the Detroit Red Wings. Vernon appeared in five NHL All Star Games, won the Williams Jennings Trophy in 1996 with Chris Osgood and was named the winner of the Conn Smythe Trophy as the Most Valuable Player player of the 1997 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Heaton Goalie Equipment was created by Brian Heaton and founded in March of 1988 (Windsor, Ontario). Heaton goalie equipment quickly gained fame and revolutionized the modern day goaltending equipment industry with the unique designs, pad construction and the use of colored materials on a wide range basis. During his prime, Brian Heaton had many big name goalies in the NHL wearing his Heaton goalie equipment in the 1990’s such as Felix Potvin, Martin Brodeur, Marty Turco, Guy Herbert, Curtis Joseph, Olaf Kolzig and Garth Snow.
