Casey DeSmith is a current National Hockey League goaltender with the Vancouver Canucks. Never drafted in the NHL, DeSmith worked his way through the minors and eventually landed himself on a NHL roster with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2017. In 2018, DeSmith signed a 3 year contract extension with the Penguins. DeSmith was recently traded to the Montreal Canadiens on August 6, 2023. Shortly thereafter, he was traded to the Vancouver Canucks on September 19th, 2023 where he’s the teams backup behind Thatcher Demko.
started out primarily as a bicycle manufacturer in 1899. It transitioned into hockey skates after multiple competitors in the biking market forced them to shift focus and change strategy. Using scrap steel from their bicycle/automobile efforts, they were able to launch themselves into the skating world with other hockey equipment soon following.
